ISO 45001:2018 Supports ISO 14000 and Risk Management
The ISO 45001:2018 standard was written to support, and be integrated with the ISO 14000 Environmental Management Standard and the ISO 9000 Quality Management System Standard. When reviewing an overview of the ISO 14000 Environmental Management Standard’s requirements and those of ISO 45001:2018, there are reflections of the two respective management systems.
Under the element Planning in ISO 45001:2018 Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment is still defined; also in the ISO 14000 standard the examination of environmental Hazards and Risks is defined. Under ISO 45001:2018 requirements, Corrective Action is defined associated to Accidents and Incidents. The ISO 14000 standard also calls for Corrective Action. Of course, Planning, Risk Assessment and Corrective Action are also represented within ISO 9001:2015.
